Upper Endoscopy (EGD)​: 

Upper GI endoscopy is a procedure in which our physicians use an endoscope a flexible tube with a camera to see the lining of your upper GI tract. Our Physicians performs the procedure, most often while you receive light sedation to help you relax. 

PillCam® Capsule Endoscopy

With PillCam, physicians can now visualize the small bowel, esophagus and colon with a small, disposable capsule used to monitor and diagnose disorders of the gastrointestinal tract without sedation or invasive endoscopic procedures.

Esophageal manometric motility study is an outpatient procedure used to measure the pressures and patterns of muscle contractions in your esophagus, the tube that connects your throat to your stomach. 

Liver Diseases/Hepatology Services:

Dr. Shima Ghavimi provides comprehensive prevention, diagnostic, evaluation, treatment, management and consultation services for patients with all types of liver diseases, including:

Diagnostic tests ordered through the Center for Liver Diseases include lab tests, CT scans, ultrasounds, MRIs and liver biopsies. Treatment may include medications, including pegylated interferon or novel immunotherapy medications available, and/or currently in clinical trials for hepatitis, Liver Cancer or various Therapeutic endoscopic surgical procedures. If a patient requires a liver transplant, he/she will be assessed at the Center and placed on a transplant list.
